January 1, 1919.  General Order # 83-18  -  Engine Company 47 was placed in service . Engine Co. 47 was originally Baltimore County Engine Co. 6 located at Hollinsferry Rd and Severn St. Mount Winans.

On September 6, 1923 General Order # 94-23  -  Engine Co. 47 was relocated to it's present quarters, located at Washington Boulevard and Wilmington Ave.

Engine Co. 47's first apparatus was an American La France 750 GPM pumper built in 1915. It had an ALF rotory gear pump, 1200 feet of 2 1/2in hose, 250 feet of 3/4 in. hose with a 10 and 12 ft. ladder. ( Formerly Baltimore counties Engine 6 )

On July 31, 1929 Engine Co. 47 recieved a used 750 GPM Arens Fox pumper built in 1918. It had an AF piston pump, Model K2-617 motor and carried 1200 ft. of 2 1/2 in hose, 250 ft of 3/4 in hose, one 35 gallon S&A tank, one 14 ft and one 24 ft ladder. Formerly a US Army pumper, purchased by Baltimore City from Columbia auto Parts.  Engine 47's American La France became S.L.E. 10.

On November 2, 1939 Engine Co. 47 recieved a new Mack pumper. It had a 750 GPM Hale centrifuge pump, mounted monitor pipe, 200 gallon booster tank. Engine 47's 1918 arens fox went to engine 17.

On January 27, 1963, Engine Co 47 recieved a new Ward La France pumper. It had a 1000GPM waterous centrifigal pump, CFC 5 man cab ( first in Baltimore City ) Gasoline engine, portable monitor pipe, 300 gal. booster tank, ultravision cab. Engine 47's 1939 Mack became S.L.E. 55 and later to be S.L.E. 35

On April 12, 1978, Engine Co 47 recieved a used American La France pumper bult in 1969. ( This was engine 9's pumper which was disbanded at 1700 hrs, april 11, 1978. It had a 1000 GPM  AFL centrifigal pump, CFC 5 man cab, diesel engine, portable monitor pipe,  300 gal booster tank. Engine 47's 1963 Ward La France became S.L.E. 28

On November 3, 1978 Engine 47 recieved a new Seagrave pumper. It had a 1000 GPM Seagrave centrifigal pump, CFC 5 man cab, Diesel engine, portable monitor pipe, 500 gal booster tank, painted orange and white. Engine 47's 1969 american la France pumper became a reserve engine, later totaled by engine 25 in 1979.

On May 9, 1994, Engine 47 recieved a new Pierce, Saber.
